Eastern Mongolia travel destinations: Dadal sum – the birthplace of Genghis Khan<The Eastern Mongolia's most astounding place, Deluun Boldog is a sacred place near the Onon River where founder and Great Khan of the Mongol Empire Genghis Khan (1162-1227) was born, located in Dadal sum of Khentii aimag. Genghis Khan created the largest empire in the world, the Mongol Empire, by destroying individual tribes in Northeast Asia, and raided most of Eurasia. He developed the most advanced professional army ever seen in Asia. Genghis Khan was known as "the Great Khan". Monument, built (1962) in honor of Great Khan is dedicated in his birthplace, Deluun Boldog, among the natural beauty of the taiga.

Khan Khentii Mountain National Park
Eastern Mongolia travel destinations: Khan Khentii Mountain National ParkUNESCO as world heritage site Khan Khentii Mountain National Park, established in 1982, covers a vast central area of Khentii Mountain Range (including territory of Batshireet and Umnudelger sums of Khentii aimag, Mungunmorit, Batsumber and Erdene sums of Tuv aimag, Mandal and Yeruu sums of Selenge aimag) and comprises 1 748 103.89 hectares. The highest point of Khentii Mountains is the peak of Asraltkhairkhan Mountain at 2,799,3m above sea level, lowest is the point of crossing the state border and the Minj river at 969,2m above sea level. Forest, taiga, forest steppe covers the territory of park. Tourist activities in the park include exploring wildlife, fishing, horse tours, hiking. Tourist routs in Khentii Mountains do not require special training and are suitable for everybody.

Baldan Bereeven Monastery
Eastern Mongolia travel destinations: Baldan Bereeven MonasteryLocated near the Mountain Munkh-Ulziit, in Umnudelger sum of Khentii aimag, mongolian largest buddhist architectural building Baldan Bereeven Monastery (1777) was the ancient buddhist, spiritual and culture center of the East Mongolia. The Tibetan name "Bereeven" translates to the " an abundance of rice ". Over the next century the monastery grew to include four institute dastans and about 20 cathedrals, housed a community of around 5000-6000 monks. Main cathedral Buyan Ulziit Tsogchin Dugan is a mongolian largest buddhist architecture, which has many halls with sculptures. In 1900 plague killed about half of monks community. Baldan Breeven Monastery has been restored and revitalized since 1990. Also, tourists can enjoy the natural beauty, visit the key attractions around the monastery including images of buddhist gods carved on a rock: Ochirvaan, Nogoon Dari Ekh, Jamsran, Manzushir, Damdinchoijoo, Tsagaan Dari Ekh, Bogd Zonkhov, Ayush. A giant tree grows in the territory of monastery. The local nomads have given their faithful with respects and named a tree as the "Mother Tree". People believe if someone pursues the distinctive, beautiful and magnificent Mother Tree and ask for wishes, they will come true. People have whispered their wishes and believed in Mother Tree since a long time ago.

Blue Lake
Eastern Mongolia travel destinations: Blue LakeBlue Lake or Khukh Nuur is located in forested mountains of Khan Khentii National Park, 35km north-west of Tsenkhermandal sum of Khentii aimag, at 1675m above sea level. The lake consists of two parts — small and big lakes. In 1889 at the Blue Lake leader of one of Mongolian clans Temujin after uniting Mongol tribes was proclaimed as a king of all Mongols and given the title Genghis Khan.
