International Flights to Ulaanbaatar

The Chinggis Khaan International Airport is located eighteen kilometers to the southwest of the Ulaanbaatar city and will take 30-40 min of ride depending on traffic. The airport was named Buyant Ukhaa until 2005, by the 800th anniversary of Mongolian Empire, the airport was renamed into Chinggis Khaan International Airport. Nowadays, it is a large comfortable airport which hosts international flights as well as those to some cities and provincies of Mongolia. The majority of such flights are operated by Mongolian Airlines (MIAT),  Korean Airline, Air China and Russian Airlines (Aeroflot). Domestic flights are operated by mongolian aircraft operators Hunnu Air, Aero Mongolia and EZNIS.
There are two ways to get to Ulaanbaatar by air:

1. Direct flights from following countries
  • German (Berlin, Frankfurt)
  • Korea (Seoul, Busan)
  • Russia (Moscow, Irkutsk)
  • China (Beijing, Khukh khot, Manjuur, Khailar)
  • Japan (Tokyo)
  • Turkey (Istanbul)
