ITINERARY

09:00 AM. Our guide and driver will meet you at your accommodation. Start your tour by car to one of the main active Buddhist monasteries of Mongolia – the Gandan Monastery. Gandantegchinlen Monastery, built in 1809, is the center of Mongolian Buddhism, constructed by order of the 5th Jebtsundamba Khutuktu in 1809, currently has over 150 monks in residence. Witnessed many events of Mongolian history, monastery came under state protection in 1994. Main attraction of Gandan Monastery is 26 m high gilded deity of Buddha, Janraisig Statue, which was built with 19 tons of copper gilded with gold and precious stones that came from historical places all over Mongolia.
Drive to the Genghis Khan Square. This central square is close to many important sights of the Ulaanbatar city. The main attractions of the square are the statue of national pride Genghis Khan and Equestrian Statue of hero Sukhbaatar, the leader of Mongolia's 1921 revolution. The north of the square is dominated by Parliament House of Mongolia. Square is surrounded by Mongolian Stock Exchange, Capital Cultural Palace and Drama Theatre buildings.
Sit down for a lunch at the "Modern Nomads" restaurant, one of the fine restaurants in Ulaanbaatar, experience authentic Mongolian traditional cuisine.
Once inside, you'll embark on a true tour of the world of Mongolian traditional musician instrument “Morin Khuur”, known as the horsehead fiddle. A visit packed with show of folk art: horse head fiddle, drawling song, throat singing, biibiyelgee dance, Mongolian national folk dance and contortion.
The State Department Store is one of the main tourist attractions in Ulaanbaatar in itself as it has all the best products from Mongolia. The sixth floor is dedicated just to tourists with wide range of souvenirs, traditional clothing and books about Mongolia tourists would want to bring home. There are cashmere, musical instruments, hats, t-shirts, models of gers and camels and horses, jewelry. Finish tour back to your hotel, be dropped off at any preferred location in the city.
