Pick up from your hotel
09:00 AM. Our guide and driver will meet you at your accommodation. Start your tour by car to one of the main active Buddhist monasteries of Mongolia – the Gandan Monastery.

Gandan Monastery - the main Buddhist monastery in Mongolia
Gandantegchinlen Monastery, built in 1809, is the center of Mongolian Buddhism, constructed by order of the 5th Jebtsundamba Khutuktu in 1809, currently has over 150 monks in residence. Witnessed many events of Mongolian history, monastery came under state protection in 1994. Main attraction of Gandan Monastery is 26 m high gilded deity of Buddha, Janraisig Statue, which was built with 19 tons of copper gilded with gold and precious stones that came from historical places all over Mongolia.

Genghis Khan Square, Parliament House of Mongolia
Drive to the Genghis Khan Square. This central square is close to many important sights of the Ulaanbatar city. The main attractions of the square are the statue of national pride Genghis Khan and Equestrian Statue of hero Sukhbaatar, the leader of Mongolia's 1921 revolution. The north of the square is dominated by Parliament House of Mongolia. Square is surrounded by Mongolian Stock Exchange, Capital Cultural Palace and Drama Theatre buildings.

National History Museum of Mongolia - one of the leading museums in Mongolia
You can explore Mongolia's history in this museum situated right of the Genghis Khan Square. Exhibitions cover prehistory, pre-Mongol Empire history, Mongol Empire, Mongolia during Qing rule, ethnography and traditional life, and twentieth-century history. The ethnographic collection has a unique significant displays of the traditional dress of various Mongolian ethnic groups and of snuff bottles. Most exhibits have labels in both Mongolian and English.

Lunch at "Modern Nomads" restaurant
After the Natural History Museum excursion, sit down for a lunch at the "Modern Nomads" restaurant, one of the fine restaurants in Ulaanbaatar, experience authentic Mongolian traditional cuisine.

Zaisan Memorial Hill
We cross Tuul River and drive to the highest point of the city, to Zaisan Memorial Hill, which honors soldiers who died and were unaccounted for (missing in war) during the World War II (1939-1945). It’s a nice site to see the panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar, on weekends - popular area for locals to celebrate weddings, school outings and graduation festivities. Nearby you will also see the Buddha statue. Drive down the Zaisangiin street to the Bogd Khan Palace Museum.

Bogd Khan Palace Museum
Next stop will be made at the Bogd Khan Winter Palace Museum. From 1903 onwards the Winter Palace was the main residence of 8th Bogd Jebtsundamba (1869–1924), the last king of Mongolia and the spiritual leader of Mongolia's Buddhism, also known as the eighth living Buddha. Later the palace was spared destruction and turned into a museum. Items on display in the Museum include collection of art and stuffed animals, sculptures, musical instruments and many religious items, bed, throne and carriage of Bogd Khan, a unique collection of gifts received from foreign kings, such as armchair with ringtone and a pair of ceremonial golden boots from the Russian tsar Nikolai II, a robe made from 80 fox skins, a ceremonial leopard ger covered with the skins of 150 snow leopards and others (total over 8,000 exhibits).
